It was a long weekend....
Primary Program
I absolutely love the Primary Program — it’s my favorite Sunday of the entire year! This time, I got to sit on the stand with the Sunbeams, which made it extra special. Xander is in my class, and we have such a fun (and full!) group of kids.
The Primary did such a wonderful job! Nick and Xander even sang a little solo in the closing song, Building Zion. Xander missed his cue and was so upset about it — there were a few tears — but that was the only little hiccup in an otherwise perfect program.
Afterward, we headed to the Primary room where the kids got to enjoy the yummy donuts they had earned during practices. These were just our Junior Primary kids, and I couldn’t be prouder of them. I love these sweet, happy faces so much!

Ward Trunk or Treat
The kids were so excited for the ward Trunk-or-Treat — they were ready to go by 9 a.m.! I definitely wasn’t, especially after the craziness of Senior Night last night. By the time 4 p.m. finally rolled around, they had actually fallen asleep waiting for me, and I had to wake them up to get going. Andrew even missed driving with us because he was still asleep!
We brought white chicken chili and rolls and had such a fun evening hanging out with friends and going car to car collecting treats. The night ended abruptly when the rain started pouring out of nowhere! Zack wasn’t quite ready for the fun to end, though, so he invited a few friends over afterward to eat candy and hang out.
I just love this cozy, busy fall season! ππ
VBODA
VBODA is the last big competition of the year for the marching band — and it’s a big one! The kids were up late at the game last night (until 11:30 p.m.) and then had to be back at school by 7 a.m. for VBODA.
I wasn’t able to go this time since Christopher is traveling, but I’m so grateful for my amazing mom friends who were there and sent me incredible photos — honestly, better than I could’ve taken myself!
The band earned a Superior rating — the highest possible score! What an awesome way to wrap up an amazing marching band season! πΆπ₯πΊ

Andrew's Senior Night
It’s hard to believe that Andrew is already a senior. Sometimes it hits me just how quickly time is flying by. This year has been such a special one for him—filled with amazing friends, fun experiences, great classes, and an incredible band family.
At the last home game, we celebrated Senior Night, and it was such a heartfelt evening. The seniors and their families were made to feel so loved and appreciated. All the band kids signed a poster for Andrew, and the band moms went above and beyond, creating beautiful buttons and shadow boxes for the parents.
Sadly, Dad couldn’t be there because—even with the government shutdown—he still had to work and travel. But Nick and Xander proudly took turns wearing the “Dad” badge, showing it off to anyone who’d look their way! Since it was also 8th Grade Night, they were my little buddies, helping me stay (mostly) sane while I tried to be in four different places at once.
I’m so proud of Andrew and the wonderful young man he’s becoming. Watching him grow, lead, and shine this year has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
