Nick Wins at Balboa Bars!

During our super short trip to California to visit Ahma and Joy for Christmas, we were treated to Ahma's absolute favor treat - a Balboa Bar! Everyone had already ordered theirs, and knowing how big they were Christopher and I made the executive decision to just have Christopher, Xander, Nick, and I share one bar. Xander was not too big on sharing - and Nick was upset because we did not get the flavor he wanted. To be fair, the flavor he wanted (peanut butter and jelly balboa bar) didn't sound too appetizing. Nick persisted and I finally gave in. He and I went and ordered a peanut butter and jelly balboa bar. He had me lift him up so he could make sure they made it correctly (he has never had one before - not sure how he would know if it was wrong or right - but....) I would've taken a picture, but I had my hands full of Nick.

He marched that bar over and proudly showed it to the group, thrilled with his creation. This little four year old ate 90% of this whole bar and just loved every minute of it. Nick won at Balboa bars - and who knows - maybe I'll order one next time!

Zack's 6th Grade Christmas Concert

Zack has picked up saxophone so quickly. We bought this one from Chris and Ligaya and he has loved playing it. We were even able to convince Karen to come to his concert! There were so many people there! Sadly Nick was sick so Andrew stayed home with him. Great job Zack!

Hartwood Girls Christmas Ornament Exchange

I had to put this in the blog because it happens so rarely. Mom was social! I attended a girl Christmas ornament exchange and had a blast! This ladies are so fun to hang with and we laughed and laughed! And I learned I need to step up my ornament game for next year!

Ward Christmas Party

The littles were feeling their Christmas spirit on the way to the Christmas Party! Learned a few things. Kids don't love Mediterranean food (Jesus food), sometimes we feel like we don't fit in, it is okay to head out when you are done. And that's all I have to say about that.
But THE BEST family pictures with Santa! Hands down the season winner....so far!

Zack's Haircut Update

It happened! The one friend who said they would give Zack $10 to cut his hair brought the money today! Zack is over the moon!

Christmas Concert in Washington DC

Chris and Ligaya have introduced us to a new tradition for our family! Seeing the Christmas Concert in Washington, DC. Each area of the armed services has their own concert each year. This year we went and saw the Army perform. What talented people! We even had a reserved box until 2 minutes before the show started - and unfortunately we had already given away our awesome back up seats - so we sat up in the nosebleed section - but it all worked out perfectly! Part 2 coming up!

Christmas Concert in DC part 2

After the concert we decided it was the perfect time to see Washington DC at Christmas time! We walked all around and saw the tree, the state trees, Washington Monument, and some of the amazing buildings all lit up. It was so fun just watching all the cousins hang out. Chris and Christopher each took a boy and carried them on their shoulders. It was adorable. We also ate dinner at this awesome pub that had amazing desserts! The boys cleaned up every plate! I can't wait till next year!

Chris got some awesome pictures of the boys at dinner!

Kallie: Marching Band Christmas Party

I am so glad Kallie joined the BYU Marching Band. It has been amazing to see her grow, change, mature, come into her own, etc during this season in her life. She has made some amazing friends and I think it really helped the transition from being home to going to college.

They had a Christmas party for all the marching band kids. She was great and sent me some pictures of her group and the clarinet section. I can't wait for games next year!
