American Ladies Dine....

This experience of living in England would have been so different without these amazing ladies. The support, advice, tips, and just someone to vent to has been priceless. Every once in a while we go into town and just enjoy a girls night. Since Christopher is off with the older kids, Nick got to join us while Zack played at a friends house. I really miss Mexican food, but Indian is growing on me! Especially Naan bread and butter chicken!

Date with my little boys

While Christopher took the older 3 kids to Amsterdam, Zack, Nick and I decided to have a little night on the town. We walked into town to see a movie, and was shocked to be the ONLY people in the whole theater. Well, that was a first for us! It worked out perfectly since Nick is not the quietest baby during movies. He did love having his own seat though! We then took it nice and slow walking back home enjoying the beauty of this place we are blessed to live. The magic of the Salisbury Cathedral just never gets old. And British babies are always bundled up in these full body bodysuit coat things. Nick's makes him look like a little teddy bear and I couldn't love it more!

Radiator hoses just fall off while driving?

Nick and I were just hanging out when we got a phone call from Christopher. It was weird to get this call because he was supposed to be in a meeting off site at the Army Flying Museum. Turns out as he was driving to the meeting the radiator hose on his car just fell off! It drained the whole radiator in seconds and he was stranded on the side of the road. Katie to the rescue with her trusty sidekick Nick! We loaded up the stuff Christopher told us to bring and headed down the A30 to save the day. Christopher laid a tarp on the ground and got to work right there on the side of the road (the car wouldn't go anywhere). Nick couldn't be more thrilled since he got to pretend to be the driver and squealed with delight at every passing car.

Once Christopher was able to figure out what happened, he was able to fix his car, get is running again, and make it to his meeting nice and late. Nick and I next headed off to rescue the kids from school. Just all in a days work for the two of us!

Leehurst Facebook Post ANDREW!

At the end of half term, Year 7 showed verve and unity when completing some team-building challenges under the guidance of Year 11. Table football matches, snacks and a good laugh in the Year 11 common room followed.

We are very proud of the fine young men and women in Year 11 who Mrs Wilson said relished the opportunity to work and join in with our lovely group of Year 7s.

Dunster Castle and Watermill - Somerset

This castle is one I've had my eye on forever. In fact, last year I dropped the kids off at school and high tailed it the 2+ hours out to Minehead to see this castle. It was better than I could have imaged! Because I had to hurry back to pickup the kids, I didn't get to wonder around like I wanted to, so when we were going to be so close, I figured we should take the kids and explore it in depth! Thankfully our kids are incredible in the car on long drives. Add in a book on tape or some comedy show, and we are golden! Just don't get Ben to dj for you - you'll end up with Irish drinking songs....

As soon as you park, you can choose several different ways to make it up to the main house. We decided to walk through the garden area, up to the old watermill, then back down to the house. The kids had so much fun playing around the different wilderness parks along the way. There were streams, waterfalls, bridges, and secret paths through the trees. It was pretty awesome!

Most the National Trust homes they have pianos for the kids to play on and old time games to play. Chris played snookers with the boys and the older kids did a piano recital. I loved it!  We then decided to explore the upper part of the estate.

Outside Kallie and I took Nick out for a little walk to see what was around. The grounds are incredible!
This was their dog/cat cemetery. It was really impressive with the most recent addition that year.

These towns never get old to look at

He just loves to do this!

Kallie at the overlook. How beautiful!!!
