Birthday Boy’s

No, it wasn’t Christopher’s birthday.  The boys went golfing one day and I get this in a text.  Really, where do I put this in a blog post?  So here you go!

These two boys have birthday’s this week!  To celebrate we went to Teppanyaki with the family.  It’s been such a long time that we’ve been able to be apart of birthday dinners!  It was so fun!

Afterwards we went and saw Man of Steel…which was pretty good!  It was fun to go out on a quad date!  Happy Birthday Alex and Anthony!!!

4th of July finished with a BANG!

After are not so great morning Andrew and I headed back to Alpine to nap.  Well I napped, Andrew terrorized.  Then we headed out to Slide Rock in Alpine.  It was awesome!  Being 4th of July I shouldn’t have been surprised it was packed, but oddly I was.  Here’s some pictures

Anthony was Superman and carried not only Reagan, but Andrew too!  (It’s a mile hike UPHILL) I was so grateful since I was struggling with the backpack and the 100 degree temps…I’m a wimp.

Love this action shot of Christopher and Andrew.  Man that water was COLD!!!  (but felt amazing 2 seconds later…it was a really HOT day!)

After sliding rock we headed back to resort Erickson for some fun swimming.  I took more video than pictures (shocking) of all the fun stunts the adults were pulling on the fun blow up slide.

Andrew looks mad here…but really that’s just pure exhaustion.

After a yummy dinner we went to Grandma and Papa’s balcony and had the best view of all the shows in Utah county.  It was amazing!

Love Andrew’s face in this one

IMG_8516

Andrew just couldn’t fight the comfy blankets and succumbed to their charms.  He was out in no time.

IMG_8517

The other kids decided to get comfy on Grandma and Papa’s bed and watch Monsters Inc.  I have no idea what time they finally crashed.  I was out like Andrew!

So all in all our 4th was amazing and we loved getting to spend it with our amazing family and be back in Utah!

Kicking off 4th of July

10 years we lived in Provo and 10 years we were never in Provo for 4th of July.  We never got to attend the Freedom Festival or Balloon launching or the big parade.  So this year I decided I was going to go.  Only Andrew was on board with this idea, but that’s ok….we were going to be a great team!  I got up at 5am, got Andrew up and we were out the door by 5:40.  We got to Provo and realized Provo is just a nightmare on July 4th!  Every road was full of traffic or closed down.  After multiple turns, u-turns, near accidents we found a parking spot.  Then I get a text telling me the balloon launching had been cancelled due to high winds.  you’ve got to be joking me!  We got up at 5am, drove 35 minutes from Alpine, fought crazy Utah drivers all for nothing.  Andrew was a little sad so I decided to get him his favorite donuts from Maceys.  A tradition from living in Utah that we can’t get in New Mexico.  This was the donut line.  Yes, they are self serve.

But he was happy to finally get his one donut (which he told me later wasn’t as good as he thought)

And then he did this.  Well, hopefully the rest of the day picks up a little.

And just in case you were wondering, no we didn’t brave the crowd again to attend the parade.  I guess we were smarter than we knew those 10 years ;)

Welcome Summer!

Thanks to a friend I’ve become quite a fan of garage sale shopping.  I ran into this little treasure and decided it was time for a pool.  Christopher was a little unsure, but I knew it would be a hit!  Here’s the setting up and filling up process (take two…apparently it’s VERY sensitive to LEVEL ground.  Lesson learned)

It took a little longer than the kids would have liked so we broke out the BBQ and made a yummy dinner in hopes of keeping the kids from just starting at the pool water slowing go up.

We also had to invite a few friends over to join us.

Finally!  Swimming time!  The kids loved it and even though it was freezing cold they swam like little fishes!  It was so adorable and I’m loving having this fun pool for the kids….and me.
