My Birthday!

Christopher hit it OUT OF THE PARK this year!  For my birthday he surprised me (and my very tired, achy pregnant 32 week body) with a spa day at Thermos Spa in Bath.  To say it was heaven would be a complete and utter understatement!  He got me a Mum to be massage, followed by a dip in the Roman bath on top of the spa overlooking Bath (talk about breathtaking!  It even had bubble!!), then exploring the other rooms (ice room, day sauna, bird singing scented water color lighted waterfall, space room, and wet sauna - then to the indoor pool.  Oh my goodness I want this every year!

Then we walked around historic Bath, grabbed some yummy pizza, showed Christopher my favorite fudge shop in all of England, then headed home for a fantastic nap.  I was so full we didn't even have dinner....just a slice of my amazing birthday cake Christopher made - Chocolate Oreo cheesecake with real whipped cream on top.  38 is going to be glorious if my birthday is any indication!

Funny story I don't want to forget.  I had ordered a few things from Amazon (whisks, recipe book, measuring cups, crock pot liners, etc) and they still hadn't arrived.  Whelp I found out why.  Christopher wrapped them up and gave them to me for my birthday!  We couldn't stop laughing.  It was the perfect day!

There are no pictures allowed in the spa so here's me in the locker room before I headed to the roof top pool.

And seriously how adorable is this picture?!?  Christopher is the best dad.  The kids (and me) absolutely adore him!

Probably should have taken a picture before we dug in....but priorities, right?!

Christopher's Birthday

I've tried to post this post so many times, but I HATE the blogger interface!  You can't move the pictures around so it makes it hard to tell the story of the day.  So I'll just tell the story of the day and you can try and guess what picture goes with what part.

Christopher's birthday this year landed on a Saturday!  He had tons of work to do so we decided to take the kids on a morning adventure (much to their teenager dislike of getting up early aka: 8:30 am) to Wardour Castle.  But first we had yummy breakfast omelets and crepes...of course.

Wardour Castle is a ruins, but it was amazing!  The kids had a blast playing hide and seek in the castle walls, rooms, and grotto.  Then they found sticks and decided they had to sword fight on the castle grounds....since it is a castle that was destroyed in a war.

Remember the Robin Hood movie with Kevin Costner...when he comes home and finds his dad hanging in a bird cage?  It was filmed at this castle!  Pretty cool huh?

Since this castle was destroyed, and the family member who was going rebuild it died before fixing it back up, the other family member decided just to start fresh with a new build just beyond the lake.

After the castle Chris had to do some work while I rested up for our big evening.  Chris and I went out to dinner at Cactus Jacks then showed our religious side by attending our stake conference adult session.  When we got home the kids had decorated the family rooms with balloons filled with things we love about Christopher - and met us at the door singing happy birthday with helium filled voices.

To make things even more safe, Christopher decided the helium in the balloons couldn't go to waste so inhaled each balloon sized amount of helium and then read the card.  Thankfully he started getting a headache so that stopped.  We took a break and had some yummy cake (that he had sampled earlier in the day so it was half gone) and called it a day after 10pm.  It took us a week to get through all those balloons!

He really does make everything more fun :)

Notice anything weird about Andrew?  It's hard to see in the picture but his pants are on BACKWARDS!  Who does that?!

This is a picture of me saving Christopher's life.  As I walk into this room he is gauging how we was going to jump up onto that set up stairs and explore the top half of that blown up room.  Sounds safe...right?

Where ever we go this sweet boy picks me flowers and brings them to me.  I adore him!

These guys might have had a bit too much helium.....opps
