Friday Feast

Every Friday before the football game the band moms feed the band kids dinner. This week was sub week and I got to serve with them. It was so fun to see Kal in her element around all the great kids she has gotten to know.

Kal and her cute friend Lexie. Love these girls!

TAG Day!

It is Marching Band season! We love marching band season. This week alone we have done Friday Feast, Concessions, alterations, TAG Day, and SNAP.  Yep, it's crazy during band season!  The band kids drive around to all the different neighborhoods and ask/collect donations. Sometimes people have them do silly things like sing a song or tell a joke. Kallie had to sing Midnight Train with Lexi - and it was adorable. I'll post a video of it!

Wisdom Teeth

Ben just finished his Invisalign and headed to his last Dentist appointment before college. They did an x-ray and found four wisdom teeth that needed to be removed or else all his teeth would shift. It was crazy trying to find someone who could perform his surgery on such short notice. Thankfully we found a place about an hour away and sent Ben in! He had a pretty rough recovery and two impacted teeth. One was so close to the nerve he had to be put out. Today is one week since surgery and he's almost 100%! And don't worry - He was 100% lucid! haha!

While he was still pretty drugged we had this fun exchange via text:
Me: What flavor of ice cream?
Ben: All of them
Ben: Vanilla and also cookies and cream

I wish the videos weren't so long so I could post those too!

Effie's Ice Cream

Every time we go to or home from Chris and Ligaya's house, a long line of people always catch my eye at this place. So of course I had to google it, and found out it was an ice cream shop! Ice cream is my love language, so of course we had to see if the long line was worth it. Poor Xander fell asleep on the way (and slept through the whole visit) so he missed out, but everyone else loved it! I'm campaigning for this to be our new half way meeting point! We even convinced Josh that the 45 minute car ride (one way) was going to be worth it. Hopefully he agreed!

Poor Ben still can't drink out of a straw because of his wisdom teeth removal so he had to eat his shake with a spoon.  Still tasted good!

I ordered Nick a large ice cream sundae for us to share with hot fudge. He was so upset when he got it. He didn't want it because it had "sauce" on it (He called A1 and BBQ both sauce and didn't think it would be good on ice cream). I couldn't convince him it was chocolate, but thankfully Christopher did and we ended up  not really sharing the sundae because he ate it all then spent the rest of the time chasing Chase and Zack around pretending to be a dinosaur that was going to eat them. Oh to be 3 again!

Swimming at Curtis

We are finally getting around to discovering our own little town. Last summer I had a newborn, and the summer before that I was stuck in bed - so we are making the most of being healthy and mobile again! We have some amazing friends here who have been so good about inviting us to swim and it has never worked out. This Saturday it did! We were hot and sweaty from the car show so it was perfect! They had a kiddie area and a diving board - and friends - so really our day couldn't have ended any better!  Well, actually it did. After dinner, we experimented with homemade cookie dough shakes and watched a movie as a family. I love days like today.

Look at these two - reading their books while watching Zack and Nick in the kiddies area. How cute are they?!

Stafford Car Show

Taryn works at a car detailing shop and they put on a car show this weekend. We always love a great car show! They had some pretty impressive cars and one driver even let Zack sit in his cool 2022 corvette - which was heaven for this kid! We saw a  monster truck on hydraulic lifts that the driver had his camping chair underneath enjoying the shade it provided. Andrew was in heaven and now wants to get a job there. I hear there is one available in a few days when Taryn heads to college.  (sad face)
