Girl's Trip to Myrtle Beach, NC

Every year, the Erickson girls take off on our annual girls' trip—no husbands, no kids, just time to explore somewhere new and enjoy being together.

This year’s destination: Myrtle Beach! I learned more than I ever expected about jellyfish (turns out some of them you can actually touch). We took long walks, soaked up the sun, did a little shopping, and just enjoyed each other's company.

And—shockingly—the husbands and kids managed just fine without us!

 

Nick Turns S-I-X!

I’ve never met a kid more excited to turn six—Nick had a full-on countdown leading up to his big day!

Since I was going to be away on our girls’ trip for his actual birthday (fortunately or unfortunately…), we celebrated a few days early. But don’t worry—Nick made sure Christopher kept the party going on the real day too!

We packed in all his favorites: donuts, Kings Dominion, IHOP, a shopping spree, and hibachi dinner to top it all off. It was a big day for Nick—and a fun one for the rest of us too!

Wind Storms

We had a crazy wind storm the other day and it blew off some shutters from the front of our house. Andrew was more than happy to volunteer to get up on the roof and fix it. I walked up the driveway and saw this - and my heart jumped. But, as always, he was fine. I love his adventurous spirit and how he is always first to help me out.

 

Church Things

Kallie got her missionary plaque! Yay! Andrew and Christopher rode bikes to church, Kallie gave a talk, Nick gave a talk, Xander gave a talk, I got a new calling with some great women - all good things!
