Yesterday was a day. A hard, stressful, emotional, wonderful, memorable, fun, tiring day. I feel like it was everything all rolled into a day. Let me start from the beginning…..
We had gone back and forth in regards to what to do with our cars. It was decided to sell Christopher’s baby and ship mine to England with us. On our trip to Cincinnati the check engine light came on and it was decided to sell it and just buy two European cars. (Not to mention how expensive insurance is!) So on Friday I went to get a quote for my baby, my mini van. I never thought my drive there would be my last drive in this car.
We decided to take the offer and in a blur my car was cleaned out, chris was on his way to pick me up, and I was sitting in the lobby holding this stupid CarMax bag, Z’s car seat, and our car mats….crying. What a basket case! I had tears streaming down my face as I signed my favorite car over. I went out to take one more picture and it was already gone. I cried again, it was horrible. My car was my last physical tie to my life here. It was very weird.
However, Christopher is loving our rental car (and the fact it was cheaper to rent than a mini van)
On the way home from CarMax we stopped by Costco to pick up a few treats for our See Ya later party. This is the first time I’ve seen Christopher tear up. It finally hit him that this would be his last Costco run with samples. He is positive the samples in Europe won’t be half as good. I died laughing. As I’m standing in line to check out he disappears and makes one more round around the store. I needed the laugh!
Of course we had to get the amazing All American Chocolate cake! It’s our favorite…with ice cream of course.
So grateful for the opportunity to say ‘See ya later’ to our wonderful friends here in Ohio. I don’t do goodbyes…just see ya laters. These wonderful people have become our Ohio family and I will always love and adore them!
The Faubers took the party to a whole new level when they brought the ferrets. I was thrilled and totally shocked! How I love these furry little guys! Most the people at the park had no idea what they were. I love introducing people to these wonderful pets!
Zack showing off his cool (temp) ride to his friends
Eden was ALL about the ferrets…while it took Luke a little longer to warm up.
Our amazing piano teacher, game night hostess Monica. Oh how we will miss her and her cute family!
These two. I can’t even put into words how much these two beauties mean to me. They welcomed me with open arms (even knowing our time here was short) and made our adventure in Ohio such an amazing experience. I learned so much from these girls and will miss them terribly.
Goofy Zack and silly Eli. I have about 20 pictures like this….these two boys are so cute together! And yes, Mr. Eli loves his hats.
Ben and Michael. These two become great buddies during Jazz band and bonded over their love of Clash of Clans and ferrets. I love watching them hang out and just be boys together. Another reason I love Rachel and Rebekah…they have amazing kids who are such great friends and examples to my kids.
Ethan was our very first ferret sitter and I am so grateful he (or Rachel) volunteered for the job. Now rascal has the cutest little friend Fidget, and a new family to love on him. It kills me leaving him behind, but knowing he is so loved by his new family makes it semi bearable.
See? These two…
Kallie and Clara. They met the first week we moved in and remained buddies…even after we changed wards and didn’t go to the same school. Now that’s a real friend! Kallie was so lucky to have a great group of girls surrounding her in Ohio. This is going to be a very hard move for her.
After Ben’s bad water throwing example – other’s wanted to try it out
Andrew and Justine totally hit it off! I don’t think they really had a chance to get to know each other as well as I would have hoped since they are in different schools and different ages. Zack also loved hanging out with sweet Savannah too.
I didn’t get a chance to eat during our crazy day, but thankfully Rebekah thought of me and sent me home with some of her amazing sugar cookie bars. I may have eaten them for my dinner, dessert, and breakfast this morning. See? I have great friends
