USS Wisconsin

It was freezing—like actual winter-freeze-warning freezing. The wind was whipping, the kind that cuts right through your jacket. So we scrapped our outdoor plans and went searching for something fun (and warm) to do indoors.

This museum was included on our pass, so we figured, “Why not? We’ll hang out for an hour.” Famous last words.

Five hours later, we were still exploring. The ship was massive—we didn’t even come close to seeing everything. There was so much to discover and learn that we’re already planning a return trip. Kylie and her kids left a little earlier, and Jamie and her crew wrapped up with us around 2. We finally made it back home at 5pm, exhausted but so happy.

It was the perfect end to our Virginia Beach getaway with friends—and absolutely worth braving the cold for.

Well That Got Out of Control Quickly

Xander needed a bath this morning, so I figured I’d make it fun. I added two pumps of body wash for bubbles… and then noticed the tub had jets. Naturally, we had to try the jets.

The moment they kicked on, Nick came running in to join the party. Within seconds, my “cute bubble bath” turned into a full-on bubble uprising. What started as a few harmless suds exploded into a foamy monster swallowing my children alive. They were screaming for help as the bubbles “ate” them.

I had to drain the water and use the shower head like a firefighter battling a soap avalanche. We survived. The bathroom floor, however… did not. One towel made it out alive.
