We love to stretch out birthdays as long as possible. Since we are in transition (for Kal’s birthday we were living in the Freeman’s basement) this birthday was a little more challenging to pull off. We really wanted to throw Kallie a birthday party, but with our current “homeless” situation, that wasn’t going to be possible. Kal’s girlfriends were having a Harry Potter viewing party and she went back and forth trying to decide if she wanted to go or not. We decided to let her play her day by ear.
Kallie’s decorations. Balloons make everything more festive, don’t you think?
Then off course we had to do the traditional grandma birthday treasure hunt! Everyone wants to help out too….
Kallie wanted chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. We normally put candles in every meal…but we didn’t know where the matches ended up in all the packing mayhem.
Kallie ended up spending most the day with her girlfriends, which was what needed. She has such a great group of girls here. After watching Harry Potter all day you think she’d be done with movies….but no. She wanted to go see Captain Underpants…so off we went! We had the whole theater to ourselves too!
She really wanted her favorite beef stroganoff for dinner, but changed her mind to Olive Garden after the movie. Birthday girl makes the calls! Oh Andrew, always so photogenic!
A few days later we headed over to our favorite bowling alley here in Beavercreek. This place is amazing! AND it was dollar day! Win Win Win! Kallie also got a strike!
After bowling we picked up our favorite gluten free, dairy free, sugar free oreo cake. Yummy stroganoff was waiting for us at home. After an outdoor dinner we decided it was time for CAKE! That’s when we remembered we still didn’t have any lighters or matches! Ugh! So off we went to find one. Ask Kallie about it someday!
The next Sunday Kallie got her Faith in God AND her first Sunday as a beehive. To say she was excited is an understatement. She was dressed and ready by 9am, and we don’t have church till 1pm! It was so such to watch!
I was able to introduce Kallie to the other Young Women. She was so shy! She didn’t want to come up and stand next to me. She finally did and had a wonderful experience. I can’t believe my little girl is now a young woman. Where did the time go? I love my little Kallie-bugs.
