Good Morning

Katie will probably embellish this story later, but one morning I learned that Andrew is still not old enough to leave at the breakfast table alone....

Prayers

I know these last few posts have been all about Kallie, but she comes up with crazy things! This morning at breakfast:

Kal: We need to say prayer.
Me: We already said the prayer.
Kal: Who said it? You or Ben?
Me: I did.
Kal: I'm glad I missed it. You say the LLLLOOOONNNNGGGEEESSSTTT prayers!

Bleeding

At dinner the other night.

Kallie: I've been bleeding for a very long time, and I'm still alive. Isn't that amazing!

Me: You've been bleeding? When?

Kallie: Almost everyday since I can remember.

Katie: Where have you been bleeding?

Kallie: On band-aids and little pieces of tissue. Here and there. But, I'm STILL ALIVE!

She wasn't so amazed about that when I explained to her how our bodies make blood. I actually felt guilty about spoiling it for her afterwards.

Kallie

The other day we had been out running errands all morning, and the kids were done with getting in and out of the car. By the time we picked up Ben and came home we were all ready for a break. Kallie and Andrew went upstairs to play in Kal's room and Ben was sitting at the counter telling me about school while I made lunch. Kallie came in a few minutes later and joined us. When lunch was ready I asked Kallie to go upstairs and get Andrew for lunch. She went upstairs and came back down...looking sad.

Me: Kal's is Andrew coming?
Kal: Mom, he is gone. (sad face)
Me: What do you mean he is "gone"?
Kal: I can't find him ANYWHERE. He is gone!
Me: Kal, you were only up there for a second. Go and look again.

She runs upstairs, comes back in less than 20 seconds.
Kal: (again, very sad face) No mom, he has really left us this time. He is NO WHERE!
Me: Kal, where did you look?
Kal: The WHOLE house.

I start to get a little nervous because Andrew is normally pretty easy to hear. I look in Kal's room, no Andrew. Play room, no Andrew. Ben's room, no Andrew. Bathrooms, no Andrew. Those are his normal stomping ground and it is not like him to not be in one of those places. I was getting VERY scared at this point and ran all over the house. The last place I look was my room. I found him all cuddled up on a pillow, jacket and shoes still on, semi covered with a blanket, pacifier in mouth, out cold! It was so adorable. He put himself down for a nap. He has never done that! He got himself all cozy and was out. I thought it was so cute though how Kallie thought "he's really gone this time". What a girl!

Home Pictures

Anabelle was finally able to come home today! Shel and Jacob were so excited! Here are some cute pictures they sent me. Hope you all enjoy them! Congratulations Shel and Jacob for finally having both your girls in the same place!
Jacob with little Anabelle. I think she already has him wrapped around her little finger!
Love this close up of Anabelle! Her hair is so dark and long! Shel, you better get the bows out!

Check out that double chin!
Car seat headed home!
Dad with his two girls. Finally a picture of the sisters together! Shel said Ava loves her little sister. She is not too interested in Anabelle, but in Anabelle's stuff...car seat, bouncer, toys. Shel said Ava did go up to Anabelle and give Anabelle her blankie. For anyone who knows Ava and her love for that blanket (she takes it EVERYWHERE with her...whenever she see it she just starts to smile, giggle and laugh!). Ava took it a step further and turned it so the part she likes was touching Anabelle. I'll think Ava just gave Anabelle her stamp of approval!
She looks so tiny when Jacob holds her! Enjoy cuddling that baby....they grow up too fast!

Anabelle one step closer to HOME!

Little Anabelle has been enjoying some tanning under bili lights for the last few days. Shelley was released from the hospital on Thursday (i think) and has been going back and forth to see and feed Anabelle. Her bili count needs to be below a 12, and this morning it was an 11.9! Right now she is off the lights and they will re-test her blood around 11 or 12. If she can maintain her count on her own she will get to come home today! If she really does get to come home, it will be around 3pm or so. Shelley was so excited she could actually able hold and nurse Anabelle as long as she wanted without a nurse timing her! (Shel would only have a limited time to try and feed her then she had to get back under the lights. If Shel wasn't there right on time the nurses would give her a bottle to keep her on a very tight schedule) When the nurse told her she didn't have a time limit she started crying :) She has enjoyed getting a night or two of peaceful sleep, but is more than ready to have both her girls at home, all the time! She wanted to thank everyone for their love and being so concerned about them and little Anabelle! Hopefully we will have some coming home pictures today!
