Easter Baskets

This year Ben really disappointed Christopher.  Last year Ben was last in finding his basket and had to get clues -and Christopher was in heaven.  Chris thought he had hidden his basket just as hard this year, but within just a few minutes we heard "found it!" coming from Ben in the basement.  Christopher was absolutely dumbstruck!  He thought Ben was lying, but sure enough Ben comes up with his basket in hand.  It totally killed Christopher and I couldn't stop laughing!  Benjamin was really living it up too.  Just chilling on the couch while the other kids looked for their basket and Christopher grumbled in the kitchen.

Xander loved the TV remote (not in his basket) and Nick loved his new "glasses".

Birthday boy Andrew found his without too much help (it was under a toy bin that he has been asked to clean up for weeks...Christopher was pretty sure he wouldn't turn it over...and he was right!)

Kallie and Zack needed the most help this year.

How cute are these kids with their easter baskets?!

Nick is completely in love with Spidey and his amazing friends!  We got him a little DVD of Spidey and his reaction was my favorite part of the day!

Easter Egg Hunt

Grandma's easter egg hunt is the highlight of each and every Easter.  You never know what you are going to find inside those eggs!  Zack was the big winner this year - with Ben winning the bonus round for I Love Yous.  We made a rule that kids couldn't trade I Love You's.  It was the difference of ONE I Love You.  The kicker?  We found an egg the kids didn't find the next day and it had an I Love You.  The whole bonus round could've gone so differently!  How cute are these kids?

Xander has a walker that he loves to walk around in.  We put it outside and he was in heaven being able to go anywhere he wanted.  A few times we had to run and grab him so he wouldn't go over the back yard edge - but....  I love that he will wear things on his head like these cute bunny ears.  He kept them on forever!

Nick was so fun this easter.  He loved opening all the easter eggs and getting all the candy.  Why is this boy so dang cute!

Zack is growing up so fast.  I love his freckles on his nose and face!

Cutest bunch of kids!  Wow!  We have SIX kids!  Holy cow!  Why does it not seem like that many?

Opening their eggs.  Xander was in heaven with all the new things to explore!

And, as per usual, it ended in an easter egg egg fight - with everyone ganging up on Andrew.  It was his birthday after all!

Cookie Monster

Nick's new thing is to say "I say Yes!".  For example, I tell Nick he can't have oreos for breakfast...he responds with "I say Yes!".  I tell Nick it's time for bed he says, "I say no bed!".  I tell Nick it's time to go inside, he says "I say no go inside!".

I was working in the other room when I noticed it was really quiet - which is an odd thing in this house.  I knew it was going to be good so I grabbed my phone and I'm so glad I did!  This man is so determined!  He hauled that chair all the way across the kitchen and got what he wanted.....

After a busy day you totally crash just randomly on the floor - don't you?

Xander is crawling!

Here are a few cute videos of his progression of sliding - to army - to the worm!

Laundry Clarity

Sometimes you're folding clothes and look over and can't believe you have two more babies - so you pull out your camera and do a mini photo shoot....with motorcycles - of course. I love these little boys! Xander: 9 months, Nick 3 weeks shy of being 3

Andrew Turns 14!

Gosh this kid is cute! I can't believe Andrew is already 14. Where has the time gone! Dang it! We started his birthday off with our super "You are Special" plate braking. Don't worry! I've got a sharpie and a paper plate! Of course we had to have orange juice in our fancy glasses. We aren't savages....

Andrew's birthday fell on Easter this week, so we did part of his birthday the Saturday before. We had a little easter egg hunt, then grandma's treasure hunt, then Andrew got his big gift.

Chimichangas for dinner and Tres Leche Cake for dessert! Yum! Yes we put candles in breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, dessert - everything!

Each envelope of his treasure hunt had a letter on it that spelled out "Go To Karen's" that he had to un-scramble. It was getting dark so we had to call in the helpers. It was too nice of a night to be inside, so we grabbed camping chairs and hung out in the front yard.

Xander is always busy - and Nick is always helpful when birthdays are involved.

Karen is awesome and even "wrapped" his bike and put a bow on it!

To say he was shocked would be a huge understatement!  A 14 year old getting a motorcycle?!  Are we insane?! Yes, and no.  It doesn't run, but this kid loves to fix things and tinker - so it is up to him to clean it up and getting it going again.  Then he can either sale it or keep it.

I have to admit - he looks pretty great on that bike!
