A New Easter Egg Hunt Attempt

After the boys found the letter "C" in an Easter egg in their baskets, they were curious. My plan was to let them stew about it all through church, but dang it - I was too excited to wait!

This year I decided to try something I saw online. I made the boys easter baskets pretty light and let them "buy" what they wanted instead. I printed out words to represent each item - then printed a second label where I cut each letter out and put it in an easter egg. They had to go find the easter egg with one letter in it and run back inside and place the letter on what they wanted to buy. It didn't matter who placed the first, second, third, etc letter - the only letter that mattered was who placed the last letter that was left on the word.

The boys were pretty excited about this new egg hunt. I told the boys they couldn't grab things off the table, so of course Andrew grabs Zack's hand and makes him grab something. This kid is so funny!

On your mark, get set, GO!

No surprisingly the "chance" word (Lottery tickets) went first. Andrew and Zack decided to work together to get this then split them. Oh, there were 2 gifts on the table that would be leftover - so they didn't get everything.

Lotto tickets were all a bust - but they still had fun scratching them off! I think this is going to be the way we do Easter from now on!

Easter Baskets

Christopher tried really hard to hide the baskets really hard this year, but dang it, these boys are onto his tricks! Everything Nick pulled out of his basket he wanted me to take a picture of with him in it. His facial expressions just make me smile! I am regretting the recorder. He is always asking if we need music to do whatever we are doing and will follow us around playing this thing with all his heart and might. It's loud.

Easter Bunny Karen

Why is putting bags on your head such a fun thing to do for kids? Even the almost 16 year old! We came home from church to see the easter bunny had hit our house again! The little boys were so excited! Of course I made them take pictures before they could go collect. I love this sweet neighbor of ours!

Primary Easter Activity

The Primary Easter activity is always my favorite. Christmas has too much pressure, Halloween you have to get all dressed up, and Easter you go in regular clothes and get candy. Who doesn't like looking for eggs with candy inside?!

This year the kids made a Jesus coming out of the tomb, bunny mix, played bingo, then we did a few rely races in teams. The it was time for the big event! THE EASTER EGG HUNT!

There were so many eggs for the kids to get. Like over 1,000! There was no way to hide all those eggs, so it just was covering the grass. They kids were in HEAVEN!  This is my favorite - when the kids are run for the eggs!

My boys!

Xander tripped and dropped some eggs. This sweet Audrey stopped, put her eggs down, stopped looking for eggs, and helped Xander put all his eggs back in his basket. It was so sweet!

And this is the sign of a great day.

And the aftermath.....
