Just your typical Tuesday
I love going back over this blog and reading what we were up to all those years ago. So for myself, here is what we did on a typical day.....
Xander in the bath. It has taken months to get him to put his head back in the water like this - so I had to take a picture.
Andrew is gone from 5:30am to 6pm most nights. We hardly see him. He had just walked through the door from marching band, sat on the couch and chatted with me and Ben about his day. He also got two packages in the mail today. His AP Calc study guide and a charger cable for his motorcycle. Guess which one he actually cared about and looked at..... After this we had dinner then Andrew drove to a friends house to help this friend fix his motorcycle. Andrew got home at 10pm then headed down and went to sleep so he could get up at 5am and do it all again.
Ben has been home for 2 weeks and I've been loving it. We've had music in our house again, help driving kids around, running errands, playing games, and chatting. This was him just hanging out with Andrew and I taking a break from playing City of Stars on the piano.
Xander probably has the hardest life out of everyone. We dealt him into our game of 9's last night and he cried the whole time since he didn't know how to play. No he doesn't want your help. No he can do it! No, he can't do it! Needless to say he went to bed right after this.....at 7pm.
Nick is all about 9's and he won't let us get away with not ending our day with it. He loves when he wins and has a goal of being tall enough to draw his own card. Nick felt like a big kid because after this game Kallie popped some popcorn and we all watched the new Twisters movie. Some of us (not me...or Nick) even made it to the end of the movie!
New Daughters?
Kallie has been getting ready to serve a mission -and part of that is prepping her room. I'm not sure why she gets the desire to start these projects at bedtime, but as long as she does them I can't really complain. After the boys bath, she brought in this old poodle skirt grandma made for her when she was 6 or 7 and wanted to try it on Nick. I don't know why she loves dressing him up, but she does - and he is ALWAYS game! Nick put that skirt on and twirled and danced the night away! He was so cute and did some impressive model shots for me while I snapped away on my phone. When Xander got out of the tub he cried "MOM! I need a pretty dress on too!" I love the ninja turtle/skirt look - don't you?
Bookworm Zack
Yesterday I walked down the hall and saw this - Zack in his bed at 5pm reading a book. It just brought back all those times I didn't think Zack would dive into books like Ben and Kallie did. He is currently on book 4 of the series. He has finished those 4 books in 5 days. That's pretty impressive in my book!

Big shoes
Why is it when little boys see shoes they must put them on their feet? Andrew came home from school with a closet in his trunk. After making him clean it out, each boy helped him by wearing a pair of shoes into the house for him. In just a few short years these little feet will actually fit into these big shoes.
Nick' Bus Stop Dream Come True
Grandma and Papa arrived pretty late on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning, Nick only had one request, have Grandma and Papa meet him at his bus stop. Mission Complete! I've never seen a kid with such a huge smile on his face or run so fast! Who wouldn't with this bunch waiting for you after a long day of school?! And yes, Grandma - of course - had candy waiting to sneak to him....and his bus mates. She's kinda the best....
This morning, when Grandma and Papa left to go back home, Nick was so sad he wasn't able to hug Grandma before he left. We made a little video for her and set off to the bus stop. While we were waiting for the bus I hear Nick squeal then take off running. Grandma saw the video and ran down to the bus stop to hug him goodbye. It was just the cutest thing I've ever seen! Why do they live so far away?!?!
