Every Labor Day since we've lived in VA we have gone camping with our incredible ward. No, we are not campers, but we are for Labor Day! This year was extra special because we weren't missing anyone or taking someone to college for the first time. Ben was able to join us too! All these pictures loaded last first, so we shall start from the back!
This was the next day when we got home. We rolled in at 1am and crashed. A few kids thought they'd get up at a regular time, but by noon everyone was back sound asleep. Needless to say, we did not have a very productive Sunday!
We stayed until after dinner, dessert, and story time with Sister Boyd (always a highlight - every year!) Ben and Andrew even went hunting for crabs and found tons! There were so many fish and crabs this year. It was nuts! Nick and Xander were not excited to go home, but thankfully they were sound asleep before we got on the freeway.
Every year Sis. Boyd does story time with a hidden treasure. This year they dug up fallen stars on the beach. It was adorable. The treasure was a necklace that had a galaxy in it. I missed most the story, but she always does something that tells them how much she loves them and how much Heavenly Father loves them. It's the best.
While we were making our tin foil dinners we had some company to pay Linkee with us! These teens are really amazing people!
All day, everyday, was spent with friends at the beach, in the sand, in the water, on a canoe, back to the sand, flying a kit, making sand castles, etc. The kids had such a great time and were so dirty, tired, and sunburned!
And my boys are naturals on the skim board. Like, insanely talented.
Oh, and lots of standing in the water, chatting, watching kids. My favorite part!
Lunch at camp. Walking down the boardwalk to the beach. Such a beautiful walk. The sand is crazy hot though!
I swear one person recommends a sun shade and then the whole ward buys one. We were not immune.....
Holy cow, it always shocks me that we have 5 boys!
