After arriving at the Ontario airport, Kallie was taken (along with all the other newbies) to the mission home in Redlands. There they walked around the Redlands temple and took some pictures with the mission president and his wife. They had 17 new missionaries come - and as far as I can tell there is only one Spanish speaker - Kallie!
They then enjoyed tostadas at the mission home and got to know the other sisters and elders. Kallie was then able to call us and tell us about her travel day and what she thought about being in California - finally!
The next morning they were apart of a mission conference. They also went on a hike above the city and had a talk about the history of their mission and area. The newbies sang a Child's Prayer - with Kallie playing clarinet and an Elder playing Violin. It was beautiful! Then they found out where they were going to be serving! I thought for sure she'd be in Fontana - but....
NOPE! Yucca Valley!
