One of Andrew’s top bucket-list items before leaving for college was to trailer his motorcycle down to Tennessee and ride the Tail of the Dragon. For those of us who don’t speak motorcycle, the Tail of the Dragon is an 11-mile stretch of mountain road with 318 curves. Yes, 318. In 11 miles. 😂
While they were gone, I happened to talk to another biker who told me that if they were making the trip all the way down there, they HAD to ride the Back of the Dragon too. So naturally, that got added to the list.
Christopher and Andrew decided to invite the guys, loaded up the motorcycles, and somehow turned Andrew’s bucket-list item into an EPIC two-day adventure.
They rode through the Appalachian Mountains, tackling the 11 miles and 318 curves of the Tail of the Dragon and then the Back of the Dragon in Virginia—a 32-mile stretch with more than 400 curves.
They rode mountain roads, took in some incredible scenery, laughed, made memories, and got to spend two days doing something they love with some really awesome people.
I am not privy to all the chats, inside jokes, stories, or whatever else happened on this trip. Honestly, I probably only know about 30% of what went on. 😂 But I know they had an EPIC time.
And, because apparently riding motorcycles through hundreds of mountain curves wasn’t enough adventure, they even got to see wild horses—including pregnant ones!
The only downside? Andrew came home covered in bee stings all over his legs. 😳 We’re not exactly sure how that happened, but obviously we blame David. 😂
I love that Andrew wanted to check this off his bucket list before college, and I love that Christopher and the guys helped turn it into so much more than just a motorcycle ride.
These are the adventures I hope they remember forever. ❤️
