April Fools.... A day just for us?!

April fool's day came a couple days late this year for those of us who are REALLY slow. Let's just say at the end of last week K was caught emailing everybody in the family a story on cnn and people.com about Snoop Dog pickin up da BoM that she thought was real. Me well, I've been wondering for a week about an anouncement that google made on gmail's web page about implementing the ability to predate emails. You know in case you forgot about your aniversary or to send an expense report. Yeah, you guessed, I just realized today what day I saw that on.... April 1st.

Easter

I can't believe I forgot to post Easter! Uncle M, Auntie B, and Cousin E all came down to visit us for the Easter, and it was a blast. Now that they live so close we've actually seen quite a bit of them. 18 months of pregnancy is putting a temporary end to that however. I didn't post all of the pictures here, but we did egg hunts, and egg coloring, and angry fits from playing too long without naps. Everything the Easter season should be. We even slipped in a little religion by going to a missionary homecoming for my cousin. My kids are still wondering why this is the first year they've heard of the Easter Bunny. Truth is, it isn't. But they can't remember that.... although something like this, what's not to remember? We tried to teach them the meaning of the holiday.... hopefully they grasp some more of that as they grow up.

Uncle N's B-day

Uncle N had his 16th birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese, not that it bothered B or K if you could tell. There Uncle T introduced B to "slap hands" and K bonded with Auntie A. Mommy couldn't make it. She claims baby A doesn't like Chuck-E-Cheese. Yeah right, we'll check that out when he gets here...

Like an Angel

These are some pictures of K that I caught while she was napping the other day. I can't help but think she is so absolutely gorgeous. Guess I'll be buying a shotgun that I can spend my friday evenings cleaning in about 14 years.

Call off the flying monkeys

I finally got sick. After two weeks of hanging around other sick people the virus finally started getting an upperhand on my immune system. Though miserable, I don't think I'm yet as bad as K and the kids got. Little K in particular is still very ill and last night was horrible. I had fallen asleep yesterday from 3 to 7 so it was hard for me to sleep even being sick but on top of it all little K could not fall asleep and that is far far worse. All night she sat somewhere in our bedroom or bed screaming and yelling and kicking either me or K. If you want to know what her screaming sounds like and why I'm referencing the wizard of oz again read the previous post.

K finally decided that if she was going to scream she might as well do it in another room at the far end of the house. The problem is that the wicked witch of the west has a voice that carries, and oh how it carries. So finally at 4:30 am I decided to call off the flying monkeys. I went down to Little K's room and picked her up and she stopped crying and said she wanted to rock with me. Dad to the rescue I thought. I'm her knight in shining armour. Yeah that ideal was crushed when K came downstairs to rock her for me since I was sick. Little K immediately went to her mom and ratted me out with a lie! "Dad woke me up!" was the first thing she said as if to cover herself. Yeah, well next time I think I'll just sleep through the flying monkeys thank you.

The Negogiator and the Melting Witch

Alright, we're going on week two of everybody being sick except for Dad, and it isn't a lot of fun. At this rate it doesn't look like I'm going to be getting Christmas pictures up. If we make it to Easter before that happens then it won't. Anyway, I'll give you a couple of glimpses of the kids during the last little while.

This virus we've got is nasty and part of the cruelty lies in the fact that you'll wake up one morning thinking it's over and by bedtime or the next morning you won't be able to move. We'll, we've been a little lax on some of rules with the kids being so sick and it's amazing how fast they come to expect it. One of the days B was feeling really good, he really wanted to play the Wii. This started at 9 am one morning. He's getting better though, instead of throwing a tantrum he's starting to pick some of the tricks K and I use to get the kids to do something we want them to do. He comes at me with, "Dad if you let me play wii, I'll let you see what's in my treasure chest!" The rule is no Wii till right before bedtime so there's no way I'm giving in to this one. He's pretty persistent though, "Dad, don't you want to know what's in my treasure chest?" Ask me that when you're 16 I'm thinking. Finally it progresses to, "Fine, I guess you'll just never know what's in my treasure chest." When he doesn't get anywhere he ups the anti, "Dad, if you let me play wii you can pick something out of my treasure chest!" In the end he never could come up with a deal sweet enough to change the rule, but he did get to play that night.

On a side note, B's favorite game has been super mario galaxy... and last night we beat it. Except B was so sick again that he actually fell asleep as we were fighting Bowser. Oh well, I guess we can always kick his butt more than once...

Kallie has just been a little zombie walking around with this virus. It's messed up her logic skills a little too. The other morning we were awakened to what sounded the like the wicked witch of the west shrieking in our bedroom. Except she was yelling "I want my own cup" instead of "I'm melting". All the while she was clutching her own cup, the same one she had walked around with all the day before. Finally, when I realized the witch wasn't actually melting, that it wasn't the witch, and that it wasn't going to stop, I got out of bed and gave her a different cup of water.
