Zack's Academic Achievement Awards

To say that Zack has had a rough week would be an understatement. I received a call from his school informing me that he had been assaulted by another student, one who has been giving him trouble all year. This student pushed Zack into the side of a locker, causing him to fall over a chair. It was both embarrassing and painful for Zack. Thankfully, the school nurse is wonderful, and Zack spoke with her about what happened. The school called me, and Kallie went to pick him up (I was at the salon getting my hair done). Zack was pretty shaken up—this was the first time anything like this had ever happened to him.

I later had a meeting with the principal and the school officer. I also saw the video of the incident, and it was awful. Together, we gave Zack the option to either attend his awards ceremony or skip it. Despite everything, he showed incredible bravery and decided not to let this student take away his moment to be recognized for his hard work. I was so proud of him! Zack received two awards—one for maintaining a 4.0 GPA and another for Student of the Year. I am beyond proud of this amazing kid
