The kids were set on going fishing while we were in Colorado, so we made a day of it at Trout Lake—just a 30-minute drive from the cabin. It turned out to be absolutely perfect. Everyone caught at least one fish (though a few lines got tangled on rocks—but thankfully, Zack jumped in to save the day). The kids took turns paddling out on the canoe and kayak, Xander had a blast playing with the worms, and the older boys spent time skipping rocks. It was relaxed and beautiful, and we even had time to just sit and visit. Jack was fascinated by the fish—he couldn’t stop touching them! Back at the cabin, Christopher cleaned and gutted the one fish we brought home, and the little boys stayed glued to his side the entire time. Jack loved it so much, he kept asking for more fish!
There were so many incredible moments that day—I had a hard time narrowing down the photos to just 70! It was one of those days we’ll all remember.
