Kim lives just minutes from where Kallie is serving, but the city’s huge, so I never imagined I’d get a message like this:
"The strangest thing happened a little while ago… I was outside cleaning car seats because Kenny’s brother spilled something, and Sophie started barking. I stood up and saw two cute girls walking toward me. Here I am, all sweaty and gross, and up walks Kallie! CRAZY. Last time I saw her, she was maybe a month old — I think I was pregnant with Travis. She’s so cute! And she’s definitely your daughter. I’m so glad she stopped by. I tried to offer them waters, sodas, snacks… they finally settled on chips. 😂"
"She walked up the driveway and I said, ‘Kallie?!’ and she looked at me like I was a total stalker. I said, ‘I know your mom, Katie! I’m Kim.’ Then it clicked for her. I told her, ‘Your mom posts plenty of pictures,’ so of course I recognized her. 😂"
And the best part? Kim, who hates taking pictures, even took one just for me. 🥹
Moments like this just melt my heart. Even though my girl is hundreds of miles away, it means everything to know she’s surrounded by kind, thoughtful people who watch out for her, offer snacks and smiles, and make her feel loved.
I’m so proud of this beautiful daughter of mine — and so grateful others get to see just how amazing she is too. 💛
