We first met the Sorensens back when we lived in Ohio. Francesca was pregnant with their first baby, and I remember thinking they were such a fancy couple! I was assigned as her visiting teacher, and the rest is history — we became fast friends during our time in Ohio.
Eventually, we moved to England, and not long after, they finally fulfilled their dream of living overseas too — landing in Brazil. Now, they have three boys and have just relocated again, this time to Spain! It was so special to reconnect. Francesca finally got to meet Nick and Xander, and I got to meet her youngest two for the first time.
They’re loving life overseas, especially being closer to her parents in Switzerland. Her boys were absolutely fascinated by Andrew and Ben — they followed them around the park, hanging on their every move. And to their credit, the big boys loved the attention and were so sweet with them.
The day at the park was perfect… until it was time to leave. The Suburban wouldn’t start — we knew the battery was on its last leg, and sure enough, it had finally given out. Thankfully, a nearby family reunion saved the day — someone was kind enough to give us a jump!
Our next stop was Walmart to buy a new battery — and you better believe we didn’t turn the engine off when we went inside!
