Lagoon is always a highlight of the Erickson Family Reunion — and this year was no exception!
We had some big milestones this time around. Most notably, Nick finally hit 48 inches tall! That meant he could ride all the big coasters — and he was so brave. He tackled Wicked, The Spider, Colossus, Cannonball, and more!
I sat right behind him on Cannonball, which, if you haven’t been on it, has several wild loops, sharp twists, and heart-dropping plunges — all with just a lap belt to hold you in. As we started climbing that first hill, I had a sudden vision of my sweet 6-year-old somehow slipping out mid-ride. I was completely terrified the entire time! But Nick? Cool as a cucumber. The moment we pulled back into the station, everyone cheered him on — and he was so pumped we immediately went again! (The second ride was even scarier — for me, anyway.)
As always, we closed out the park together, full of laughter, sore feet, and great memories. On the way home, we grabbed In-N-Out, treated ourselves to some late-night ice cream, and finally rolled in around midnight.
What a day! Can’t wait for next time!
