I love being at the cabin. Winter up there feels magical, but there’s something truly special about summer. We filled our days with games, lake time, walks to the pond, swinging out over the water on the rope swing, cruising around on ATVs, and sharing endless stories and laughter.
Zack and Reagan spent hours in the lake — laughing nonstop and trying (with varying success) to balance on this little yellow banana boat that was just begging to tip over. Even when I couldn’t see them, I could hear their laughter echoing across the water. Later in the day, I took them back for round two — and this time Noah joined in the fun!
Andrew, of course, found tons of things to fix — including changing out the Suburban’s battery, which we discovered had been held in place with zip ties. That makes me feel very safe...
Shelley, Gail, and Bronson even came up for a bit to hang out — we swam in the lake and played a round of Hand and Foot, which made the weekend feel even more complete.
It all flew by way too fast, and before we knew it, we were packing up and heading back down to Alpine — already wishing for one more day.
